Well it’s finally here, my astonishing Amazonian associates, THE one film trailer that I know you’ve all been waiting for… Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins’ sequel to the stunning 2017 Wonder Woman movie finally has a trailer, and Great Hera! it’s absolutely phenomenal!
The 2017 Wonder Woman movie really was a fantastic homage to William Marston’s groundbreaking creation, it captured everything that’s essential about Diana that fans wanted from DC’s premier female lead character. Her origin story respected both versions that have been laid out throughout her almost eight decades of virtual existence, daughter of Zeus and child of clay. Her Amazon sisters were also spectacularly brought to life and Chris Pine was perfect casting as the wry yet honourable Steve Trevor. Yet it was Gal Gadot as the titular heroine that stole the show, sublime casting that was ultimately the reason behind the film’s massive box office success.
After three torturous years of waiting, WW fanatics are finally blessed with a trailer for the much anticipated sequel, and it’s a doozy! 1980’s setting replete with era appropriate music and fashion, the return of Steve Trevor after he met his heroic fate in the original, Kristen Wiig as Dr Barbara Minerva aka Wondy nemesis The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as the scheming sociopath Maxwell Lord, plus of course Gal Gadot back in her career defining role as Princess Diana of Themyscira… The trailer is astounding, and right here for your delectation. Enjoy:
Welcome fellow Agents of Precinct1313 to another enticing episode of ‘The Week In Geek’ where we love to share our favourite – Comic Book, Video-Game, and Cult Movie news for your perusal and pleasure. And so once more unto the geek dear Agents, once more…
Wondy Returns… To The Eighties!
Ahh the eighties, also known as – the greatest decade in human history (I’m an 80’s kid, so a slight amount of bias may be inherent) the decade of extreme action heroes like Arnie and Sly, the start of grandly Gothic culture (yep, I was a Goth too!) the absolute best horror movies ever, and comic book sales and readership were massive thanks to marvellously mature storylines and celebrated creators, especially glorious George Perez and his ultimate take on everyone’s favourite Amazon Princess… plus Lynda Carter, returning once more as Diana… as I said greatest, decade, EVER!
And it seems I’m not alone in this thought, as delightful director Patty Jenkins and astonishing actress Gal Gadot will be revisiting this decidedly delicious decade with the sequel to the sterling 2017 Wonder Woman movie, appropriately titled Wonder Woman 84. With film production in full swing we have been regaled with much in the way of awesome stills and video footage, comprising not just Zeus’ favoured daughter, but also, the intriguing return of Steve Trevor. Feast your eyes on these implacably illustrious images, my astounding Amazonian associates:
Hmmmm, now the only problem I can foresee with Gal’s Wondy popping up during the exhilarating eighties is the possibility of an extreme time paradox occurring should she run into Lynda Carter’s vivacious version of the Themysciran Titan.
Sting Channels John Constantine…
Well bloody ‘ell, who would of thought it, Sting is a bleedin’ Constantine fan… how cool is that!?
In a recent video, music maestro Sting has revealed he will be writing the foreword to the Constantine: Hellblazer 30th Anniversary Celebration. Interestingly (and bloody well meta!) Sting’s foreword will take the unique perspective of the Golden Boy, Constantine’s alternate universe twin, and will focus on his relationship with the mystic occult detective over the years. Sting fantastically captures the look and essence of the classic British comic-book character, his inclusion in the celebratory collection is a definite nod to the fact that Sting was an early inspiration to Constantine’s signature appearance. Very, bloody, cool, Indeed!
“Starting from his first appearance, a debut penned by the extraordinary legend that is Alan Moore, Constantine has served as an enduring and controversial pop-culture character… an exorcist and demonologist, master of the dark arts, and the lead of DC/Vertigo’s longest running and most successful title.”
The John Constantine – Hellblazer: 30th Anniversary Collection will be available to buy on October 30th.
And Finally… Death!
Look at this.. look at it… I need this, it’s everything… it’s life (well actually it’s Death, but y’know) This awesome Death of the Endless pop figure is coming to a comic-book emporium near you, pre-order it soon or spend an eternity longing for Death…

Hang on one second, I just need to catch my breath… after what was quite possibly the most enthralling and epic film trailer I have ever witnessed. Warner Bros have released one final denouement in their campaign to advertise the forthcoming big screen solo appearance of the legendary Princess of Themyscira, and Suffering Sappho it’s bloody marvellous indeed!
The new trailer, which debuted during the MTV movie awards ceremony, expertly showcases the massive scope, astounding action and gritty realism of it’s WW1 setting. A film that spans a millennia of generations and finally unleashes to the silver screen the most important and revolutionary fictional female character of all time. Great Hera, it’s going to be glorious… June 2 cannot come soon enough. Enjoy, my amazing Amazonian associates…
The second trailer for next years highly anticipated (especially by us) Wonder Woman movie has now been officially released by Warner Bros, and ‘Great Hera’ it’s even more astonishing than the fantastic original! This IS Wonder Woman, the trailer captures everything we adore about the Awesome Amazon. Watch it, love it… watch it again!
Wonder Woman hits the silver screen on June 09 2017. Starring: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, Lisa Loven Kongsli, David Thewliss, Lucy Davis, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Said Taghmaoui. Screenplay by: Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg. Directed by: Patty Jenkins.
We have a love/hate relationship with DC Collectables here in Precinct1313, love because they make, absolutely, phenomenally astonishing collectables of awesome, and hate because, we’re always so damned broke through needing to buy every last one of them… sigh.
With that said, feast you eyes on these stunningly realised statues centred around Gal Gadot’s 2017 Wonder Woman movie (my wallet is currently crying soft tears of joy and pain!)
By the hooves of the mighty Minotaur, this is without a doubt my favourite of the three statues available, Princess Diana, majestic upon her mighty steed, cutting a swathe through her many foe. Beautifully sculpted, this 1/6 scale figure is lovingly carved by James Marsano and stands an astonishing 17.5 inches in height. Available in May 2017.
Glorious Gal Gadot’s likeness is wonderfully perceived in this exquisite effigy sculpted once again by the talented James Marsano. The ‘Wonder Woman Training Outfit’ statue stands an impressive 12.5 inches in height and will also be available to buy in May 2017.
DC Collectables last sensational statue depicts the dynamic duo of Diana and her lifelong cicerone, friend, and love interest Steve Trevor. Steve Trevor is to be portrayed in the 2017 dated WW movie by actor Chris Pine (Star Trek) and once again the likeness is astonishing. Standing poised and ready for battle, the statue stands at 13.5 inches in height.
The Wonder Woman celebrations continue my Amazon loving affiliates, just form an orderly line down on the golden shores of Themyscira for our next foray into 75 years of the Awesome Amazon.
Wonder Woman’s solo cinematic debut is still well over a year away from theatrical release, but we can console ourselves with these recent set pictures of Gal Gadot’s Princess Diana and her sister Amazons on the Paradise Island of Themyscira.
The pictures were taken during filming in Italy, in the Basilicata region, primarily Lucania. These territories include many ancient locations including the city of Mattera, where the 1959 Charlton Heston led “Ben Hur” was filmed. These southern Italian areas are perfect for the depiction of the tranquil idyll that is Themyscira Island.
The highly anticipated 2017 movie recently transferred shooting to Italy after a long period filming its turn of the century World War One sequences in the UK. A large majority of the film will chart the amazing Amazon’s experiences in dealing with the once forbidden outside world, during the great war of 1914. It is during this time that she will first meet future love interest, Colonel Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) who will be introduced in an iconic scene ripped straight from comic book lore as he crash lands on the secret island of Themyscira.
This paradigmatic meeting between the Themysciran Princess and the American service man has been told and retold many times throughout Wonder Woman’s almost 75 years of existence, in comic book, animated and live action forms with the latter performed by the lovely Lynda Carter and her co-star Lyle Waggoner in the seventies and early eighties Wonder Woman television series. This event was also the catalyst for Diana becoming Wonder Woman and leaving the ancient Island to travel to the outside world for the first time as the Amazon’s herald.
Wonder Woman is due to be released theatrically in June, 2017. Directed by Patty Jenkins, and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewliss, Ewen Bremner, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Said Taghmaoui and Lisa Kongsli.
Well what can we say but… “Great Hera!” last nights CW documentary special ‘Dawn Of The Justice League’ not only furnished us with yet more peeks at the upcoming ‘Batman v Superman’ movie and a new trailer for the villainous ‘Suicide Squad’ film (Which you can watch right here… and it’s mind-blowingly good!) but most exciting for us was the official Wonder Woman footage. This very brief, but awesome look at Gal Gadot as the world’s most famous female Superhero shows Diana in full Wonder Woman regalia, and also includes some action sequences and a longer look at the early 1900’s World War 1 setting. Enjoy…

New Wonder Woman set photos;
With filming currently underway in the UK, for Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman movie which stars Gal Gadot as the amazing Amazon, more photos have emerged showing Gal and her co-star Chris Pine (who is playing Steve Trevor… twice!) on set in Southend, Essex. The pictures show the actors in the first half of the film, which is (now confirmed) set during World War One, with the latter half of the film set in modern day. The Themysciran demi-goddess will be gracing the silver screen some time in 2017, but can be seen first in next years highly anticipated (especially by us!) “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.”
Become Ben Affleck in new Arkham Knight DLC;
Game developer Rocksteady released a new trailer for some rather interesting extra content for Batman: Arkham Knight. The DLC will feature the Batmobile and costume from next years Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice movie, giving the player a chance to play as Affleck’s version of the iconic crime-fighter a full four months before his big screen debut.
The DLC also includes two new missions that feature, Catwoman sneaking through a deadly toy shop that houses Edward Nigma‘s automated robot factory in “Catwoman’s Revenge”, and we follow Robin as he tracks down the duplicitous Two Face in “Robin: A Flip Of The Coin.”
Teen Titans Movie a possibility;
And lastly let’s finish on a little bit of rumour and speculation as a new post on JoBlo.com postulates that the planned 2020 “Cyborg” movie may actually be scrapped in favour of a Teen Titans flick. The 2020 Cyborg film is set to star Ray Fisher as the cybernetically enhanced Superhero, with the character making his initial silver screen debut in the 2017 planned Justice League film.
The much loved team of teens have already been stars of several animated series, and have a pilot in the works for a live action series at TNT. If this turns out to be true, it will be fantastic to finally see live action versions of classic characters such as Starfire, Donna Troy and of course one time Boy Wonder, Nightwing… fingers crossed on this one fellow Titans fans.

The waves gently lap at the golden shores of the paradise island known as Themyscira, this idyllic setting is the ancient home of the Amazons, a race of immortal warrior women created by the Greek Gods of Olympus over three thousand years ago. Hidden from the outside world, the Amazons lived on Themyscira untouched by society for millennia, perfecting their skills as warriors and artisans.
Warner Brothers are readying their team to begin production on the 2017 film “Wonder Woman” and news surfaced today of the possible location of the Amazons’ secret island of Themyscira. Basilicata is a region in the south of Italy, set amongst the beautiful mountainous area of the Apennines. During Greek and Roman ages it was known as Lucania, named after the ancient Greek tribes of the region, and is now looking like it will also double as the utopian isle of the fabled Amazons.
The film is initially being produced under the name Nightingale, a possible reference to the character Seiji Kato, an Earth 2 assassin who made her first appearance in Wonder Woman #317 in 1984. Starring Gal Gadot as the titular heroine and actor Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, the film is being directed by Patty Jenkins, written by Jason Fuchs and filmed by Hoyte Van Hoytema, director of photography on productions such as Interstellar and The Fighter.
Stay tuned for more news on the exciting development of Diana’s first big screen outing, fellow fans of the amazing Amazon.
