2023 marks the eightieth anniversary of the very first live action appearances of the Dark Knight Detective – Batman and Boy Wonder – Robin, whose dynamic debuts were in the 1943, 15 chapter serial series: The Batman, directed by Lambert Hillyer and starring Lewis Wilson as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Douglas Croft as Robin/Dick Grayson.

Every time I watch scenes from that era, I can’t help but to marvel at the leaps (great and not so) achieved in the art of moving pictures!

Hey, my friend. Absolutely agree, it’s crazy to realise how far the medium has moved on in a (comparatively) small amount of time, I mean compare this (still great fun) 1943 serial to the most recent Batman movie, night and day (or, because it’s Batsy, night and night?)
