Classic Wonder Woman: Wonder Woman #1

Wondy #1 first title

(DC Comics, 1941-2015)

Continuing our weekly comic-cover countdown to the amazing Amazon’s 75th anniversary, with the first full length comic-book devoted solely to Wonder Woman, released in June of 1942. 64 pages in length and containing four separate stories, The Origin Of  Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman Goes To The Circus, Wonder Woman Versus The Prison Spy Ring and The Greatest Feat Of Daring In Human History.

WW #1 ..

Written by her creator William Moulton Marston (under his oft used pen-name: Charles Moulton) and pencilled and inked by Harry G. Peter, this issue not only gives us Wonder Woman’s original origin story but also introduces us to her extended cast of family and friends including, Queen Hippolyta, Steve Trevor, Etta Candy and Greek Gods, Aphrodite, Athena, Ares and Hermes.

Estimated price for a near mint copy of Diana’s first ever solo comic is around £35,000 (about $53,000), so I will not be adding one to my extensive WW collection anytime soon! Join us for another classic WW cover in a weeks time my avid amazonian associates.
