Battle of the Batmobiles…

new batmobile

The new Batmobile unveiled this week by Zack Snyder.

With the proper unveiling of the new Batmobile by Batman vs Superman director Zack Snyder this week, I was interested to see which of the movie Batmobiles are favoured by the fans. First a pictorial reminder of the Caped Crusader’s sweet rides throughout the decades and then a poll to endeavour which comes out on top.

west batmoabile

Ah, the classic 1960’s Batmobile from the Adam West led Batman television series, I have such fond memories of watching this great show as a kid back in the early eighties, this will always remain the greatest of the on-screen Batmobiles to me personally … it definitely is the most iconic.

keaton batmobile

Michael Keaton’s Batmobile from the 1989 film directed by Tim Burton is my personal second favourite of the Dark Knight’s vehicles, fantastic car, amazing movie!

kilmer batmobile

The 1995 Val Kilmer led Batman movie – Batman Forever was in my personal opinion…absolutely terrible!, but not quite as bad as the serious train wreck that was the George Clooney film – Batman and Robin (shudders), but the Batmobile itself wasn’t too bad. Keeping the similar design aesthetic of previous Bat vehicles, it was the best thing to come out of those horrible, horrible movies.

bale batmobile

In 2005, Batman returned with the Christopher Nolan directed Batman Begins, not only did we get a new Batman in the guise of actor Christian Bale but also a new Batmobile. The Tumbler as it was called in the movies, was basically more akin to a tank this time around …a really fast and agile tank, reminiscent of the Batmobile from Frank Miller’s seminal comic series the Dark Knight Returns.

Vote now for your favourite of these classic vehicles fellow Bat-fans…

  1. Well folks, thanks for voting and as I expected the Keaton Batmobile came out on top … and I’m glad. As much as I love the Adam West version of the Batmobile, the Keaton one feels the most like it was ripped straight out of the comics, plus the movies were damn awesome!
